Mercury Maynard, a growing IT Support business in Essex, aimed to elevate their brand to compete with established IT firms in Essex and London. The project began with redefining Mercury Maynard's desired image, transitioning from an outdated website to a modern, uncluttered online presence.
Design and Development
The search for inspiration led us beyond typical industry standards, identifying unique web designs that aligned with Mercury Maynard's envisioned identity. Moving away from their old website's video background, which had long defined their digital presence, we sought a similar yet refreshed video element to maintain brand continuity while embracing change. The focus was on a user-friendly design, incorporating Webflow's CMS for easy in-house updates, especially for their regularly updated blog pages.
Personalisation and Experience
Mercury Maynard invested in professional photography for team headshots and dynamic in-action shots, adding a personal touch to the website. Yolkk ensured the team page was easily manageable, allowing updates to team member profiles, photos, and display order. LeifBridge, operating from the prestigious 70 St Mary Axe, also known as The Can of Ham, recognised the need to upgrade their website to match their target audience consisting of high net worth individuals. The decision to revamp their digital presence was catalysed by a malfunctioning external plugin and the desire to enhance their premium customer experience. LeifBridge's active content creation strategy, featuring insights, reports, and podcasts, further necessitated a robust platform to showcase their offerings and complement a thriving social media channels.
Design and Brand Integration
Understanding LeifBridge's strong identity was crucial for Yolkk. The firm's name, inspired by “The Bridge Between Continents” symbolising the connection between Europe and North America, guided our design philosophy. We crafted a website featuring side-by-side images of iconic landmarks from the US and UK, enhanced with subtle animations for an engaging user experience. Yolkk's customised and harmonised the entire website's imagery, ensuring a consistent style and flow that resonated with LeifBridge's brand ethos.
Collaboration and Content Management
The project involved close collaboration not only with LeifBridge's professionals but also with Shard Capital's in-house marketing team. This partnership was key in creating a dynamic website that could be regularly updated with new articles, insights, news, and podcast episodes consistently posted on LinkedIn and alternative social media pages. The integration of a user-friendly content management system ensured that LeifBridge could maintain an active and up-to-date online presence, reflecting their commitment to providing growth driving content to their clients.
Project Overview
Buckingham Electrical, a Leicestershire-based commercial and industrial electrician service, sought to revitalise their online presence after realising their dark-themed website was not resonating with customers. Dissatisfied with their previous WordPress site, which featured pixelated images and lacked appeal, they were inspired by a competitor's more engaging website. Moving away from their current agency Yolkk was brought on board to undertake this transformation.
Website Redesign and Strategy
Yolkk's approach was not only cost-effective but also focused on elevating the quality of Buckingham Electrical's website in both design and functionality. The initial analysis revealed that the site's aesthetic and structural elements were lacking. To address this, we emphasised the importance of social proof, such as testimonials and case studies, to enhance conversion rates. The new website design showcased Buckingham Electrical in a brighter, more approachable yet professional light. Special attention was given to image quality, using WebP format for better compression and faster load times. The site was built with future expansion in mind, particularly for adding new case studies through Webflow's CMS.
SEO and Ongoing Growth
Post-launch, Yolkk continued to collaborate with Buckingham Electrical, focusing on improving their search engine rankings. Retained for ongoing services, we implemented a dual strategy of adding blog posts and internal pages, enriching the site with case studies and informative content. This approach, still ongoing (January 2024) has seen significant changes to the site's position on Google. It's crucial to note that SEO is a long-term strategy, but when executed well, it can yield consistent and significant results in customer acquisition.
Project Overview
Groom Wilkes & Wright (GWW), a specialised solicitor firm in Hertfordshire, sought to enhance their online presence with a new website and customer facing member area. This feature allows for personalised client file access and that can be easy updated in-house keeping files relevant on a weekly basis.
The Build
Our discovery meetings revealed GWW's preference for minimalistic design. After creating several homepage mockups, we chose to evolve an image from their previous website. On tablet and desktop, we introduced a dynamic, attention-grabbing element with sweeping lines, created using Lottie animation in Adobe After Effects. For mobile users, we used a static image to ensure quick loading.
Client Area
Without a suitable third-party solution, we integrated Memberstack, a robust Webflow add-on, for the client area. New clients receive a templated email to set up their password. Upon logging in, they find a personalised dashboard with their company logo and easily accessible files. We also developed an admin dashboard, allowing GWW's team to view the client area as their clients do, enhancing their ability to provide direct support.
Project Introduction
Activate Business Development (Activate BD), specialise in lead generation, typically working with businesses in the East Midlands. Activate recognised the need for a dynamic website that could evolve with their marketing strategies. Steve's extensive background in marketing and experience with a successful creative agency informed his understanding of the importance of a professional website that empowers in-house growth. Impressed by Yolkk's work Steve, the marketing consultant behind Activate BD, chose Yolkk for developing his own company's online presence.
Development and Customisation
As well as ensuring Activates website users resinated with the brand and understood the growth services offered, the project also focused on creating a scalable and easily editable website. This flexibility was crucial for Activate BD, allowing them to update and add new services, reviews, blogs, case studies, FAQs, team members, and unique solutions as their business evolves. The collaboration resulted in a website that not only captures leads effectively through marketing quizzes and other call-to-action features but also received positive feedback and webform submissions from clients.
